Q: Do I get the actual home at your sales center, or do I order the home?
A: It's your choice ! There is no extra charge to re-order. The only difference in price would be for added options or in the event of a factory price increase. Many customers prefer to order to get their choice of colors and options.
Q: Do you accept trade-ins?
A: Yes
Q: Is a down payment required to purchase a manufactured home?
A: A down payment is usually, but not always required. Many mortgage companies have a plan requiring only 5% down. 0% down plans are available and usually require that you own your property. Also, your trade-in is considered a down payment. Long or short term financing is available to provide a monthly payment that can fit your budget requirements.
Q: Do you make the utility connections on our new home?
A: No. We may be able to help you locate installers to do this depending on where your lot is located. However, we are not directly involved in utility connections.
Q: How far do you deliver?
A: The first 75 miles of the delivery are free. There will be a per mile charge after that.
Q: Are homes built in the north insulated better than those built in the south?
A: No. This is a very common myth. Actually, all homes are required by HUD code to be insulated for the area of the country thay are to be placed in. HUD has established three climate zones in the U.S. with zone three being the heaviest insulation required. Kentucky is in zone two. Brown's chooses to order our homes insulated for zone three because of the long term energy cost savings to our customers.
Q: Who do I call about warranty service?
A: You call us at Brown's. The only time we will direct you to call another servicer is for problems with appliances, air conditioners, or furnaces. These have their own factory servicers. We will be there for you to make sure all your service concerns go smoothly.
